Computers are an important part of the educational
experience because it gives the students an another way of learning
information. Also other ways to put their work or assignments in a more
readable format. For instance, having students using word for typing up their essays
will make it easier for the teacher to read. Since everyone’s hand writing will
not be eligible. By using technology, it
is the teachers responsibly to make sure that the students are ready and well
prepared for society. The AECT is a technology organization is meant to facilitate
teachers with improving the technologies that they use to enhance a students
learning.
One standard that I like for the ISTI for students is the creative
communicator. Which is a way for students to show what they learned through
creative tools. For example, I movie, PowerPoint etc. In middle school for one
of my classes we had to make I movies for chapters to show that we understood
the overall message. Another creative tool that I used while in school was
creating digital presentations. For language arts I had to create posters, book
covers etc. All of that made the students to think out side of the box and get
creative with what they were learning.
One that would be outside of my current skill level is innovative designer.
I don’t recall there being a time where I have to create a design to solve any
solutions.
Digital native refers to people who grew up with technology.
The people who can’t remember a time without technology. Digital immigrants
have watched technology form. I haven’t seen a real difference in how digital
natives and digital natives use technology, with the teachers that I have had
growing up. Most teachers taught the students how to use the different
technologies for their class etc. I would say that their wont be a difference
between me as a teacher and my students, because we have grown up as digital
natives, and can relate more to the time they are growing up in now.
I agree with your third paragraph regarding about how there won't be much of a difference between yourself and your student.
