In the sports lab we were shown these type of glasses that are used to track eye movement and I believe something else but can not recall right now. But focusing on the eye movement for education I believe it could be used to track students who have ADHD specially to track their attention span when the teacher is up and teaching. To see how long, they can focus on the teacher and are paying attention, verse when they move their eyes off the teacher and get distracted.

Using Bloom’s Taxonomy with a PowerPoint for a 2nd grade classroom. The Bloom’s Taxonomy has 6 steps: Create, evaluate, analyze, apply, understand, remember.  When using a PowerPoint starting at Create, creating a PowerPoint for a lesson on the list of spelling words for the week. I’m not sure how you could evaluate this type of lesson. For analyze we can find words that we already know and relate them to the new words, giving the students a base to understanding the new words. For applying there would be a sentence with each words so that the child can get use to seeing it being used in a sentence. For understanding we will discuss the words and and answer any questions that they students may have, also would discuss if the words are a noun, verb etc. Remembering is the last step we would review the words through and game with PowerPoint for the students.

This website called edtech update is an overall website set up for educators to keep up to date with different technologies that are being used in some classrooms. The site is broken into different groups or sections depending what you are looking for. So I looked at blended learning and clicked on adaptive learning. In this section they have articles that are published from other sites such as article “How adaptive learning really works” published by techlearning. This website uses published articles and places it all in one place for educators to find.

The ADA law makes it illegal to discriminate against anyone with disability. And that they have to make special accommodations to anyone with disability. Adaptive technology that helps people with disabilities affectively use computer equipment.  For example, students with physical disabilities may bot be able to type, or to see a map. So this means that they need to use an alternative out put or input devices for assistance. Voice recognition can be used for people who can’t type.  I do not know of anyone who had to use alternatives accommodations for technology. I believe if a teacher had just one student in the class that adaptive technology the teacher would be able to cater to the student, while not neglecting the other students. But it will be harder if you have more than one student that need to use adaptive technology.

Working on the web page design was simple but did not like the templates that were given. I wanted more of a free range to place the different sections how I want them on a page with pictures. More like how we did the newsletter in word. I think I would need more practice to actually be able to create a website that is effective. I can do a lot to improve such as the layout, making a consistent theme throughout the website. Playing with fonts etc.

Diigo can be very helpful for college age students who are working on research papers or working in groups on a research methods assignment.  But I believe teachers can use this source to help each other find lesson materials etc. So if one teacher found a website that helps with the lesson they can share it so that other teachers can see.
